Further to 22nd June meeting, Jim Forbes was voted as Chair of the Residents’ Association.
We are still seeking a Treasurer.
As of 02nd June 2017 Brendan Fitzgerald has written the following email to all members:
It is with regret that I must inform you of my decision to resign from my role as Chair for Smithick Ward Residents Association.
As you are probably aware I have already spent nearly two months of this year working abroad and recently secured work that will take me away again for nearly all of June and August. This could potentially lead to a more permanent move abroad which would limit the amount of time and effort I can provide to the Residents Association.
In the past nine months we have gone from an idea to a residents association with over sixty members that has had a direct impact on the decisions being made locally, something we should all be proud of. That is not something I intend to walk away from without a plan for continuity and I am pleased to inform you that Jim Forbes intends to put himself forward as my replacement. Speaking personally I can tell you that Jim has been a massive help with getting the RA off the ground and we would not be where we are today without his help.
This will go to vote at our next meeting on the 22nd June at 7.45 at the Athenaeum Club, Kimberly Place which will go ahead despite my absence (please put this in your diary). Should anyone else wish to put themselves forward for this role please inform me prior to this meeting.
I wish SWRA continued success and hope I can continue in some capacity as a member.
